Fine art and good food in a fantastic setting

Galanthus Gallery & Café opened in April 2005, in a 250-year-old, half-timbered barn, beautifully converted to reflect the best of contemporary craftsmanship and design.

The gallery shows a mix of art and design craft – usually a selection of artists at any one time in exhibitions that change every six weeks. For details of current and future exhibitions, please see the exhibitions sections of the website. The artists that we show work in a variety and range of styles and media, including painting, prints, photography, sculpture, glass and ceramics. A selection of luscious, designer made jewellery is always on show, as well as limited edition prints and cards.

Our licensed café serves delicious, homemade food made with fresh, local ingredients – and the very best, illy coffee. One of our greatest assets is our gorgeous, sunny courtyard which you can sit in with a coffee and a newspaper, or linger in over lunch.

During the summer, we hold the Galanthus Sculpture in the Garden exhibition when spectacular garden art is on show in the courtyard, walled garden and meadow garden – with duckpond, rill and views to the Black Mountains.

In the early part of the year, you can also enjoy our Snowdrop Walks when you can marvel at the thousands of snowdrops that come up in the garden, among violets and daffodils.

Also on site is the Galanthus Dairy which makes delicious ice-cream and the award-winning Galanthus Blue Cheese, which is made for the café and available to take away.

You will find a warm welcome at Galanthus whether you are interested in buying high quality art and craft, or are simply looking for good eating and drinking in relaxed, airy surroundings.

We are open 10.00am-5.00pm, Thursday - Sunday (closed Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday).

Special Christmas opening times on 22 & 23 December, 10am-5pm. Closed Monday 21 December.
