New Year exhibition

Saturday 14 January 2006 – Tuesday 14 February 2006

Helen Booth and Mark Folds are neighbours who have both emigrated to rural west Wales. Mark's epic landscapes in Chinese inks are a dynamic, visual exploration of his new surroundings, while Helen's ethereal, layered abstracts hold echoes of the landscapes she remembers from childhood. Carmarthenshire ceramicist Duncan Ayscough's sensuous, rounded and long-necked pots are thrown and fired on the potters wheel, and are richly coloured and toned using surface carbonisation techniques. The pieces are finished with additions of gold leaf and wax polished to heighten the visual impact.
